A1& B1   "Feeling Organic" green sculptural bowl 18" x approx. 7"
                  ^5 stone ware - SOLD
This piece was form through the recycling process of my work. The bowl itself was formed using slip made while throwing 10 other pieces. So in essence contains a piece of each of the 10 vessels. The surface additions were created when I trimmed the bottoms of those same ten pots. I then carved and cut hole into the remaining surface area. So in essence what was left behind became its own entity.

C1, A2 & B2  "The Dance" series bowls
                 ^03 earthenware - SOLD
vary slightly in size approx. 8" x  4"
Using my usual white bodied clay and a clay made by adding colored oxides, these bowl were formed by stacking the two different colored clays on my wheel in various configurations then throwing them together. This process caused the clay to dance together in its own unique way. Although these bowls are beautiful I cannot duplicate the way the colors meld together. Isn't this uniqueness why we search for the handmade over our cloning mechanic counterparts?

Geode bowl
12"x6"
cone 6 stoneware
unavailable
The layering of glazes in this bowl mirror the beauty of a geode. This is set off by the contrasting dark matte glaze on the rim and handles. I can make bowls similar to this again but, never get the same results. The combination of the thickness of the glaze the exact temperature the kiln reaches and the atmosphere created by the surrounding pieces in the firing all become a part of the outcome. Each time I use this glaze combination the results are beautiful and different than the time before.
